Bodice explores the reinvention of classics through modern tailoring and the use of India’s indigenous textiles woven by local artisans. Transitional wardrobe staples are developed through the pursuit of innovation, that are unassuming yet compelling because of thoughtful detaidivng and sustainable production practices.
Bodice was founded by Ruchika Sachdeva in New Delhi in May 2011, after she
graduated in Fashion Design and Technology from London College of Fashion. The designer has since then been the recipient of the Elle India Style Award for Breakthrough Designer (2012), Grazia India Award for the Best Urban Collection (2013), Vogue India’s Fashion Fund/ CFDA in 2014 where she got a funding of 2.5 Million Indian Rupees. Most recently, she was on the India's 30 under 30 list.
With a flagship store in Hauz Khas Village, New Delhi, Bodice is stocked in around 20 stores across India and over 15 stores internationally.
Bodice was recently selected to exhibit at the International Fashion Showcase 2016, at The Somerset House in London. International Fashion Showcase is an annual initiative organised by the British Council and British Fashion Council during London Fashion Week to showcase each countries’ most exciting designers in an exhibition that reflects their nations’ contemporary culture.
